What is Import Export Federation (IEF)?
Import Export Federation (IEF) is a Pune-based export training and guidance organisation founded by Mr. Abhijit Shinde. It grew out of Ocius Export Pvt Ltd, an active exporter of agri products to the Gulf and other markets. IEF has trained 12,320+ entrepreneurs, whose shipments total 1,406+ containers across 21 countries.
Who is Mr. Abhijit Shinde?
Mr. Abhijit Shinde is the founder of Import Export Federation and an active importer-exporter. He runs Ocius Export Pvt Ltd, which exports agri products from India to the Gulf and other markets. He teaches from his own day-to-day experience with products, buyers, payments and shipping.
Is IEF a training institute or an export company?
Both. IEF's knowledge comes from a working export business, Ocius Export Pvt Ltd. Students learn practices already tested on real shipments, buyers and payments, not just classroom theory.

How do I start an import-export business in India?
Start by choosing the right product and target market. Next, get your Importer Exporter Code (IEC) and the licences your product needs, find and verify genuine buyers, and agree safe payment terms. Then ship with a reliable customs house agent (CHA) and freight partner. The IEF Export Masterclass walks through this full process in 2 hours.
Do I need prior experience to start exporting?
No. Many IEF students started with no trade background, including salaried professionals, farmers and first-time entrepreneurs. What you need is a clear process, the right product choice and guidance on avoiding costly early mistakes.
How much money do I need to start an export business?
It depends on your product, market and order size. Some exporters start with small, sample-led orders, while others need working capital for full containers. The Masterclass explains how to estimate your investment before you commit.
What is an IEC, and do I need one?
An Importer Exporter Code (IEC) is a 10-digit code issued by India's Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT). Every business that imports or exports goods from India needs one. It is one of the first registrations an exporter completes.
Can I start exporting alongside my job?
Yes. Many IEF students build their export business while working full-time. The online program is recorded so you can learn at your own pace, and the live Masterclass runs on Sundays.
How do I find genuine international buyers and avoid fraud?
Verify every buyer before you ship: check company registration, trade history and references, and use secure payment terms such as advance payment or a letter of credit. IEF teaches the buyer-verification and payment-term methods its own export business uses.

The IEF Export Masterclass is a 2-hour live online session held every Sunday in Hinglish. It covers how export works, choosing the right product and market, the investment involved, finding genuine buyers, documentation basics and your next-step roadmap.
What is the difference between the online and Pune programs?
The Successful EXIM Program — Online is recorded, so you learn at your own pace. The Successful EXIM Program — Pune runs over 4 days: 3 days of classroom training in Pune and 1 day of practical training at JNPT port.
What is the Dubai Business Tour?
The Dubai Business Tour is a 3-day on-ground visit to Dubai's wholesale markets to meet buyers and partners and understand the market before you export. It starts with the Market Reality Session.
What is the 1:1 strategy call?
The 1:1 strategy call is a personal session with Mr. Abhijit Shinde to plan your product, market and next export move. It suits people who are already exporting or ready to scale.
